Every year, EHHOP leadership undergoes a transition process in February and March that passes the important responsibility of continuing to deliver upwards of $50,000 worth of medication coverage, hundreds of thousands of dollars worth of free medical care, and invaluable educational, research, and advocacy projects on to a new cohort.
Come, join us. Be a part of something truly special. Here are just a few highlights from 2016:
- 300+ unique patients served in > 1000 visits
- 43 of these have multiple chronic diseases requiring intensive management (see our Chronic Care program)
- > $6,000 disbursed directly to patients to cover travel expenses, urgent medications, labs, procedures, and to weather food insecurity crises.
- New project initiated to collect patient stories in collaboration with multiple CBOs (e.g. NYLAG) to ethically use patient narratives to advocate for policies that benefit the uninsured of East Harlem.
