Dear Students and Faculty,
Please join us for Quality Improvement Council (QIC) Grand Rounds!
This year, three teams of 2nd year medical students have worked to improve care and efficiency at the East Harlem Health Outreach Partnership (EHHOP). Their projects have focused on medication costs, medication adherence, and diet/exercise goals. Now, it’s time to celebrate their accomplishments. It’s also an opportunity to learn about quality improvement and how to provide high-value care in a resource limited environment. Also, food will be provided.

About the Quality Improvement Council (QIC): The QIC was formed in 2011 to provide a formalized platform for students to identify QI targets at EHHOP and develop Interventions to address these needs. Students work in teams of five for 10 months to conduct rigorous analyses of the problems facing EHHOP, propose systems-based solutions, and, finally, implement and test these solutions in clinic. The program has received critical acclaim, and was awarded the Best Education Innovation award in 2013 by the North East Group on Educational Affairs.
About EHHOP: EHHOP is Mount Sinai's student-run, attending precepted Saturday clinic that provides free care to uninsured residents of East Harlem. In the ten years since it first started, the clinic has expanded massively and now provides comprehensive medical services including ophthalmology services, OB/GYN care, social work, nutrition, and access to specialty referrals.
